Flip trickster flip facing forward12/24/2023 ![]() ![]() "Take no offense, my friends, but blades are worthless in the face of a Loki's sorcery," said Richard E. So much so Disney+'s Loki recently poked fun at the trickster's love for blades in its fifth and penultimate episode, which dropped Wednesday morning. Daggers and other small blades have been a consistent part of the God of Mischief's arsenal since his debut 2011's Thor. Riding with an open face lid is great though, I've got a tall screen on my bike so 70mph is no issue, lovely when the sun's out too.Loki's ( Tom Hiddleston) knives are almost always out. I reckon that Shark lid posted above is a good compromise. (*) The CD200 is my one regret, I should never have let it go: I got almost nothing for it and I could have made shed space if I tried harder. so now I think some kind of snorkel, as suggested up thread, is the next step. I didn't say I was going to do 70 with just an open face, I said that with the balaclava I could do 70(ish!) without undue pain but that when the balaclava got soggy and almost airtight, the exhale fogged up my goggles. and I stuck with it because, as Tef says, its lighter and quicker and easier, specially for a specs wearer like me. ![]() apart from the flies and the grit and the rain. but even at 50 it's not nice! It was my first open face lid and I found I like it, being out in the open air. I started with the open face because my return to biking (my 2nd) was with a little CD200(*) which wouldn't do 70 and a full-face racer helmet seemed like overkill. That's my traditional 'Open', and probably more often used TBH, easier to grab, stick on and carry, if I'm just popping to town or whatever tend to just wear spex with it & keep the speeds down, as Stink & Shaggy suggest. ![]() usefully, it can be 'flipped' between open & full-face 'on-the-move', with barely any more faff that some Full-Face viror mechanism's are to open or close! Tis my handy solution to the issue visor can still be used in the open position, which is handy and I'll confess 'making progress' in less clement whether, does get flipped when it starts to 'sting' a bit, though more often when wind is making my eyes water. Shark Evoline the chin-piece flips right over & is faired into the back for riding i the 'open' position, & approved for use (according to the sales blurb) in both configurations. You'll find you aren't supposed to ride with it up. ![]() I've just got a flip front full face helmet.Ĭouldn't give a fuck how I look, flip the front up in nice weather and close it in shit weather. I tried with my (bought for the purpose) jersey balaclava underneath and that took the sting out - 70mph cruise without pain - but then the balaclava saturated, my breath went up and fogged my goggles so I had to stop and go back to pain.Īnd so the question - can anyone recommend a "get home without hurting" for this? That isn't a) "Wear a full-face", because I do when I know it's going to rain, or b) "Man up and ignore the pain" because that's not the point. Once again I didn't pay proper attention to the weather forecast and wore my open face+goggles and was rained on, and once again it hurts. ![]()
